`gift_type` names the completeness model behind each capability: `metabolic` GIFTs are complete when a curated enzymatic route is complete, and `structural`, `regulatory` and `defense` GIFTs when a curated architecture, circuit or defense mechanism is complete. `mode` is a property of the metabolic model and is `NA` for the other types.
